Import Customer Database from Excel File

We can import your Customer database to speed up the configuration and management process.

Below you will find the guide for filling in the Excel file required for the import.

Download the sample file found at the bottom of this guide.
Fill in the file following the specifications indicated below (enter one customer per row).
Once the file is ready, open a support ticket and attach the completed Excel file.
We will check the file and proceed with the import into the system.

Here is the meaning of the columns in the Excel file and how to fill them in correctly:

type: Indicates the type of customer.
- Enter 1 if private individual.
- Enter 2 if company.
- Note: Do not include quotation marks.
name: Enter the full name or company name.
first_name: Full first name of the customer (can be left blank if company).
last_name: Full surname of the customer (can be left blank if company).
address: Address (street and house number only).
postcode: Postcode.
city: Town/City.
state: County. Enter the county code (e.g. Rome = RM).
country: Country. Enter the country code as shown in the sample file (table "Set 1"). You may leave this field blank.
phone: Telephone or mobile number. You may enter an international dialling code without using "+" or "00".
email: Customer's email address.
vat_code: Full VAT number.
tax_code: Tax code. (can be left blank if it is a company).
sdi: Unique Code for electronic invoicing.
- Enter "0000000" for Italian companies.
- Enter "XXXXXXX" for foreign companies.
- You may also leave the field blank.
pec: Certified Email Address.
locale: Customer's preferred language.
- Enter the language (two lowercase characters) following the ISO standard (e.g. it, en).
- If you leave the field blank, English will be set as the default language.
birthday: Customer's date of birth in the format YYYY-MM-DD (Year-Month-Day).
notes: Any notes about the customer.

Once completed, please contact smartpms customer support and attach the compiled excel file.
