Promotions

Promotions allow guests to view a discounted price based on the conditions and restrictions of the selected promotion.

There are two types of promotions available:

  • Standard Promotion
  • Coupon

 

How do I add a Promotion?

  1. To add a promotion, go to Settings → Properties
  2. Click on the Settings button for the properties you manage.
  3. Now, click on "CONFIGURE" for the "Promotions" section.
  4. Click on + ADD.

 

Field Details in "Create Promotion"

The following fields are mandatory for creating a promotion.

  • Name: Fill in this field with a label that will help you identify the promotion in the future.
  • Type: Choose whether the promotion is a Standard promotion or a Coupon.
  • Active: If deactivated, the promotion will not be visible when manually creating a booking.
  • Discount: Specify the discount percentage. Note that only coupons can have a discount in currency.
  • Show on Booking Engine: If this option is not active, the promotion will not be shown on the booking engine. However, you can still manually add this promotion to a booking.

 

Restrictions

In the restrictions section, you can add various conditions to the promotion. You can combine multiple conditions.

Please remember that promotions are not cumulative; the guest will be shown the most advantageous promotion available.

 

Limit the Promotion to Specific Rates

All Rates > Disabling this option is useful if you want to limit a promotion to specific rates. For example, the promotion could only apply to non-refundable rates.

If two promotions are valid for the same period and apply to specific rates, only the promotion with the highest discount will be shown.

Example: 1 promo with -15% for non-refundable rates and 1 promo with -10% for refundable rates. Only the -15% promotion will be shown.

 

Limit the Promotion to a Minimum Stay

You can set a minimum stay duration required to make the promotion available. Just set the "Length of Stay" field.

 

Limit the Promotion to Early Bookings

You can set the number of days in advance needed to make the promotion available. Just set the "Valid for the next / Days in advance" field.

 

Limit the Promotion to Specific Periods

You can make the promotion valid only for certain stay dates using the "Check-in From" and "Check-in To" fields, and/or for specific booking dates using the "Valid From" and "Valid To" fields.

You can also limit the promotion to specific days of the week. The promotion will be active only on the days highlighted in teal. To deactivate a day, simply click on it.

 

Title and Description of the Promotion

To make the promotion more appealing, you can add a label and a multilingual description to attract and explain to guests the benefits of the offer in the Content section.

Here is an example of a promotion limited to 15 August with a 15% discount:

  • Label: "-15% Ferragosto"
  • Description: "Only on this website, enjoy an exclusive 15% discount for the night of Ferragosto! Breakfast and a boat trip included in the price."

 

Coupon

To create a Coupon, simply create a new promotion from the property settings and select the "Coupon" option as the promotion type.

Coupons can have all the features and conditions of standard promotions, but they also offer some additional functionalities:

  • Discount Type: Select either "Amount" or "Percentage".
  • Coupon Code: This works as a password that you can share with selected guests. You can also add the coupon code directly to the URL of your booking engine, so your guests won’t need to enter it manually (more on this below).
  • Coupon Availability: You can set a maximum number of coupons available. The available number will decrease with each confirmed booking. Leave this field blank if you want the coupons to be available without limit.

 

Apply the Coupon Directly to the Link of Your Booking Engine

You can add a coupon to the URL of your booking engine by following these steps:

  1. Perform a date search on your booking engine. If you have multiple properties, select the property of interest from the search results.
  2. Note the example URL:
    https://demociaobooking.bookpage.io/it/properties/139132?ad=2&ch=0&sd=2023-06-15&ed=2023-06-17&page=1
  3. Remove this section: ad=2&ch=0&sd=2023-06-15&ed=2023-06-17&page=1
  4. Add: coupon=COD1234

Before sending the URL to your guests, make sure to test it. Using the example, the final URL should look like this:
https://demociaobooking.bookpage.io/it/properties/139132?coupon=COD1234

 

Associate the Promotion with Multiple Properties, if Necessary

If needed, you can associate a promotion with multiple properties using the "Associate with" field in the right-hand column.
