Enabling Housekeeping Rules
To generate the planner or calendar for housekeeping, you must first set up the rules for the automatic generation of tasks.
Note: Rules vary depending on the property. Therefore, if you manage multiple properties, ensure that you set up rules for each necessary property.
For each property, you can create multiple rules and assign them to different types of accommodation.
Ā
Creating a New Housekeeping Rule
- Go to Settings ā Properties ā Housekeeping.
- Click "+ ADD".
-
Fill out the left-hand column with the following fields:
- Name: A name for the rule, e.g., "flat cleaning".
-
Touch-up cleaning frequency: If you conduct touch-up cleanings, indicate how many days after the check-in date they occur.
- ā ļø Note: If you do not conduct touch-up cleanings, enter 0 or leave the field blank.
-
Linen change frequency: Specify how many touch-up cleanings (not days) occur before linen is changed.
- ā ļø Note: If you do not change linen, enter 0 or leave the field blank.
- Default setup: Indicate the number of people to prepare the accommodation for if no arrivals are scheduled at check-out.
- Default user: Select a "cleaning staff" user to automatically assign all cleanings associated with this rule. If no user is available in the dropdown menu, you can create a new one by following this guide.
- Colour: You can set a colour to associate with this cleaning rule. Tasks related to this rule will have a border in the selected colour.
- Associated types: Choose which accommodation types to link with the above rules.
Note: If you do not perform touch-up cleanings but only linen changes, specify in the 'Touch-up cleaning frequency' field how many days elapse between linen changes, and set the value to 1 in the 'Linen change frequency' field. This way, tasks for touch-up cleanings will indicate when a linen change is required.

Types of Cleaning
Here, you can add additional details for check-out and touch-up cleanings. These are optional but useful in various contexts:
- Cost: If you indicate a cost, it will appear in the housekeeping report, allowing you to summarise the total payment for the cleaning company.
- Duration: You can specify the maximum or expected duration for cleaning each unit.
- Description: You can add as many lines as needed by clicking the green "+". These lines can serve as a task list for the cleaning staff to follow.
Ā
Create and Generate the First Tasks
Once the rule configuration is complete, click "CREATE" at the top right. You can create additional rules by clicking "+ ADD" and assigning them to different accommodation types.
After configuring the cleaning rules, you must generate the first tasks for existing bookings from the main rules screen:
- To generate tasks for existing bookings, select the starting date from which to regenerate the tasks, then click "regenerate".
- If you do not regenerate cleanings, the new rules will only apply to future confirmed bookings. Tasks for new bookings will generate automatically.
