Stripe Platform Integration

Stripe is an online payment processing platform. With CiaoBooking's integration, it will be possible to:

  • Process the amounts due from the credit cards of bookings using the credit card on file.
  • Enable payment of the tourist tax during online check-in.
  • Allow the customer to pay any outstanding amounts through the Customer Portal.

 

How to Activate the Connection

To link your Stripe account to CiaoBooking, follow these simple steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings ā†’ Companies ā†’ Settings.
  2. In the "Payment Methods" section, click on "CONFIGURE".
  3. Enable the "STRIPE" option.
  4. Click on the "Connect Stripe Account" button.
  5. You will be redirected to Stripe's website, where you will need to enter your account credentials or follow the guided procedure to create a new account.
  6. Once completed, you will be redirected back to the same payment methods section, where you will need to complete the information below.

 

SCA/PSD2 Options

Choose one of the following options for SCA/PSD2 compliance:

  • MOTO Transaction - NO SCA - high risk of declined transactions: This option attempts to bypass the SCA/PSD2 verification. The transaction will not require confirmation from the customer, but the customer could later dispute the payment with their bank.

  • Always send SCA - authentication required: With this option, the system will always require customer authentication through SCA/PSD2. The payment will be confirmed only after the customer completes the authentication process. When this option is enabled, the customer will ALWAYS receive an email with a request for authorization. They must follow the verification procedure set by their bank. This is the most secure option but complicates the transaction process.

  • Allow the bank to choose SCA - recommended: With this option (recommended), Stripe will evaluate the risk of the transaction. If it is deemed risky, Stripe will ask the customer for double authentication (SCA).
